Fiberguide Industries News – optical transmission fibers, fibre optic cables, OEM assemblies and precision arrays
Stirling, N.J. (January 24, 2017) – Fiberguide Industries will display its new RARe Motheye™ optical fibers at Photonics West booth 1745 and SPIE BIOS booth 8840. The exhibitions take place from January 28 to February 2 at the Moscone Center (San Francisco, Calif.).
New RARe Motheye fibers offer enhanced power handling for high power delivery, research and development, medical, photonics and industrial applications. Fiberguide uses a proprietary technology to create randomized nanostructures on the fiber surface that are similar to the compound eyes of nocturnal insects. This results in fiber optic assemblies with superior wavelength range (400-2200nm), durability and damage thresholds when compared with commonly used AR coatings. Fiberguide VP of Technology Devinder Saini will deliver a demonstration of RARe Motheye fibers at 4:30 on February 1 in Demo Area 1 – Hall ABC South.
Visitors to the company’s booths can also view a demonstration of Fiberguide’s fiber Bragg grating sensors. Developed in partnership with Micron Optics, the sensors are designed to measure strain, temperature, pressure and acceleration from fiber Bragg gratings installed on smart structures, such as on bridges or airplanes.
