Stirling, N.J. (November 4, 2015) – Fiberguide Industries will exhibit its specialty optical fibers and high power mode stripping SMA cable at COMPAMED 2015, stand 8BF20-1. The show takes place November 16 to 19, 2015 at the Mess Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf, Germany).

High power mode stripping SMA cable

Fiberguide high power mode stripping SMA cable at COMPAMED

High power mode stripping SMA cable assemblies from Fiberguide Industries provide a higher power alternative to traditional laser delivery cables for laser welding, marking, cutting and drilling equipment.

Most similar products are unable to operate above 150W (200µm core) without active water cooling. Fiberguide’s line is designed to handle more power and survive at higher temperatures with a passive, air-cooled design. An integrated mode stripper dissipates up to 25W of power from the cladding, ensuring a clean output and boosting power handling capacities to 100W (100µm core), 250W (200µm core) or 350W (400µm core), depending on system conditions.

Fiberguide also offers other more standard high power laser cables with FD80 and HPSMA terminations. Fiber core sizes are available from 100µm up to 1500µm. Custom fiber sizes and other OEM configurations – jacketing, temperature requirements, multiple fibers, etc. – are also available.

All connector configurations use an epoxy free cantilevered nose design, which isolates the optical fiber from the ferrule to prevent thermal and contamination problems. Fiber tips are laser polished using a proprietary process to eliminate all surface defects for maximum transmission. Fibers are all fused silica core and cladding for maximum power handling.
